"Merry freakin Christmas"-read on.....

I watched a movie two nights ago, where the actress was upset with someone and left
the room saying, "Merry Freakin Christmas"! Well, it seems I may be able to say the
same thing. December 23rd will be remembered by us as the Christmas from H--l. We
went shopping for two hours and came home to see our entire house flooded with three
inches of water. We were lucky to find a restoration company free and they were there within two hours and work through the evening to put dryers in place, rip out
all the carpets, make a temporary repair to the pipes until after Christmas. Meanwhile we are living in a tiny bedroom upstairs in dtr's house. I don't think we
will be able to do that for more than a few days. We think we have the option to move into a motel until work is completed. Which is at least three weeks away.
We scrambled in the water to move everything up on beds and couches off the floor and
yes, I salvaged my Christmas gifts. The one corner the water had not reached yet.
We had to empty closets and storage rooms, so the pictures aboveare an indication of
what the whole house looks like now. Very non-liveable.
But we will enjoy Christmas upstairs with our family, and that's what it is all about.
Merry Christmas everyone. I will be away from my computer for a few weeks until restoration is all done. On the bright side, I will have all new carpets through the house and newly painted walls.
