Colour Challenge

I tried a colour challenge this week with a new group called Paper Craft using this link:

http://cardoftheweek.ning.com/group/pcpcolorchallenge. Check it out, as they have other groups within the Paper Craft blog to try. You might want to join up in them.
Back to my card, this week's challenge was to use Really Rust, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and Going Gray or Basic Gray. You could use other stock for close colour match too.
Well, I don't have any grey but I did have a striped paper with a grey stripe in it, so I made up this bits and pieces design and worked around it. I doodled on the grey, punched holes to show the colour underneath.
My nestibilities came in handy for layering the colours, and a piece of BP with the right colours served as my focal point, using a little store bought poinsettia with the two colours (how lucky was that). I added my Whisper White as mytop and bottom edging and added a Riding hood red ribbon to complete the look. Different looking but I like it. What do you think?

This is a beautiful color combo .... I especially love the vertical border you made. It sorta looks like a fence. And the ribbon going behind it and the flower overlapping it. Great layering - beautiful card!
