At 8 am this morning, we were shaken to the foundations after forgetting that we had
a Bobcat with a jack hammer coming in to break up the cement driveway out front.
Because we had some water leakage into the house, it was determined that our old cement driveway was at fault and we need to replace it with a new one. One that is
slanted away from the house instead of drawing rainwater to the house. By the end of the day and through the downpour we had today, the result is a mucky mess. But
they got most of the cement pieces out of the way and tomorrow will try to smooth out
the muck and lay down a new layer of rock. But it seems we will have a reprieve from the rain, with several days of sunshine, so that should help a lot and enable the laying down of a new driveway. In the middle of this we had nine little people in for a birthday sleepover. Was that fun. A couple of hours of noise and running,
a couple of hours of a movie and food, and a settling down period of just talking while in their sleeping bags, or reading, and then lights out. You could hear a pin
drop.
