All Hallows Eve

My goodness, a week has flown by and guess what, it is Halloween. My grd-dtrs are
so excited. They wore their gear to school on Friday and were thrilled to bits.
One is a lady policewoman, with a cap, police jacket and long boots to the knees,
and pants with a big yellow stripe down the sides. The other is a cowboy sheriff,
with a sparkly cowboy hat, bandana, jeans, gun belt and boots. They look awesome.
TODAY'S PHOTO IS OF MY PARENTS TWO WEEKS AFTER THEIR WEDDING IN ENGLAND. AND AS MY
MOTHER SAID TO ME, "little did I know that you were coming along so soon". I was
their Christmas present just 10 months after their wedding.

Well today is day four of mum's transfer to a care home. She is still a little lost
in the transition period, and missing being home, but the nurses feel she is beginning to settle in okay. It will take a couple of weeks they say, and then she
will feel more comfortable there. We are getting her into a routine of going down
to the dining room for meals, and having her hair done at the facility etc. She wants to go shopping for some new clothes, so we'll take her out soon for that.
Meanwhile, we are also adjusting to her not being at home, and we have so much time
on our hands, that we feel a little lost as well. But it is good time, and a relaxing time and it makes for nicer visits with her, without all the drama. It's a good thing, as Martha Stewart says.
