Eventful Week

Two special events happened this week in our family circle. On November 25, a new
little girl came into our lives. My great niece, Maya Lynne made her appearance.
She weighed in at 7 lbs exactly and unlike her oldest sister who is now eight,
came out of the oven 'done'. When her sister was born, I had never seen such a tiny
little thing in all my life. There was not an ounce of fat on her body and she was
a little pile of bones with skin. My comment to my niece at the time brought much
laughter and a lasting impression, as I said, Oh my goodness, are you sure she is
done! Well, Maya is definitely done and my comment came back to haunt me.
The second special event, even closer to my heart was my granddaughters fifth birthday this weekend. Her mother gave me the eagle eye, when she unwrapped her
present from us. We had taken her shopping and she chose her birthday gift. A giant stuffed dinosaur almost as tall as she is. Mum had just cleared out piles
of stuffies, so that's why I got the eagle eye. But here is her card that I made
from swap material, so everything is pretty much unknown content, except for the
cute little giraffe that I know is from Gina K Designs and the ribbon is SU. I
coloured the little girl (for my little girl) with copics and sparkle gel pens.
Three burgundy buttons were added to the bottom of the card. River Rock CS is the
base card.
