I'm still here
No, I haven't disappeared into thin air. I am trying to catch up on committed projects as well as babysit my 4 year old granddaughter and take her to pre-school.
Our babysitting duties have changed a lot since she joined pre-school. Her mum has more morning catering jobs, so she is home in time to pick her up as well as her
older sister from school. Next September they will both be enrolled in the "big girl school" so life will be a little easier having only one destination to meet
and greet after school. So we only have a couple of hours every few days, which
frees up our time considerably. And they aren't babies anymore, so they help to
entertain themselves more and I can do a few things around the house without constant
supervision of them. The family cocker spaniel, Charlee, had her checkup too this week and got her grooming in order. New haircut, ears, teeth and toenails done. A
regular little diva. But she looks so cute. She was beginning to look like a little
bear before her cut. She gets curly and very matted and the snow we had this year
before her cut, did not help matters. She would come in with icicles hanging from
her legs and tummy. The only way to get her warm was throw her in the tub. But
three or four times a day. Waa-a-a-a-a! We are now on our fourth day of sunshine.
We have been waiting for weeks to see something better than the mists of the moor,
as we wake each morning. So depressing. Funny how a little bit of sunshine makes
you want to work or at least think about work. My mother lives with us, and the first thing she said to me this morning was, Kelly (my daughter) should wash out
the garbage buckets while it is sunny out. Umm-mm, mum it is at freezing level regardless of the sun, so the buckets can wait a few more weeks, I think. Anything
in them would be frozen anyway. And so I'll close off for now. I hope to get another card or two ready to post, but it may be another day yet. Don't lose hope,
I shall return.
